Great heritage project meeting last night at Worcester University.
We covered a lot in a couple of hours. Amongst other stuff Matt gave us a master class in how to blog ( although a lot of people are doing it, not everybody knows how to do it ).
Some of our volunteers will be going to Cripplegate Park, Worcester this Saturday to Mini Fest to gather more cinema and film memories from the general public. So if you are going to the festival and fancy chatting about your favourite films or experiences of going to cinemas like the Scala, the Gaumont, the Northwick, Vue or the Odeon ( to name a few ) then look out for them.

We also took a look at the Pathe News Website. This is great website for seeing short film clips on a wide variety of subjects from over the years. By the time Pathé finally stopped producing the cinema newsreel in 1970 they had accumulated 3500 hours of filmed history amounting to over 90,000 individual items.
This is a link to a short film of a cinema manager in Bermondsey, London 1949, confiscating toy guns, boxing-gloves, toy knives from young boys as they enter the cinema. Although it’s not Worcester or Worcestershire I’m sure that happened at the cinemas all over the country! Funny. http://www.britishpathe.com/video/dick-barton-boys/query/cinema
We also started to chat about our first Worcestershire Film Festival Roadshow coming up on July 7th in Redditch at The Palace Theatre 3-8pm. Not long now!! For more details go to our events page at top.
